Dr. Emily Ishkanian

Dr. Emily Ishkanian is a native to Las Vegas and graduated as Valedictorian from Bonanza High School. Upon obtaining a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, she returned to Nevada to pursue a career in dentistry. In 2010, she graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine and began practicing at Green Valley Dental Center in addition to serving as an adjunct faculty member at UNLV School of Dental Medicine. A life-long student, Dr. Ishkanian is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry where she attends continuing education courses in order to obtain a fellowship degree in general dentistry.

As an adjunct UNLV faculty member, Dr. Ishkanian shapes the future of dentistry by mentoring on the clinic floor, lecturing in the classroom, offering continuing education courses and volunteering with students at the Huntridge Clinic for Recovering Addicts and Saturday Teen and Women’s clinic.

Dr. Ishkanian is committed to organized dentistry and is a member of The American Dental Association, the Nevada Dental Association and the Southern Nevada Dental Society. She also created the Southern Nevada New Dentists, a group whose purpose is to integrate new dentists into the profession. In addition to her work, Dr. Ishkanian also serves as the 14th district representative and vice chair to American Dental Association’s New Dentist Committee and has served as a liason on the Coucil on Ethics Bylaws and Judicial Affairs.

Dr. Ishkanian has received numerous awards while practicing and serving her community. She was awarded the Ideal American Student Dental Association Fundraising Award, the Delta Dental Student Leadership Award, UNLV School of Dental Medicine Best Overall Student Team Member and General Practice Clinic Award. In 2013, she was awarded UNLV’s Alumni of the Year for her continued commitment and dedication to students and alumni.
