All of Flores Family Dental’s team would love to get to know you better, but in the mean time here’s a little bit about us.
Dr. Michael FLores
Dr. Flores, originally from San Diego, has made Las Vegas his second home. Being involved in dentistry for the past ten years has given him the opportunity to create a family practice where adults and children can come to find a dental home; something he feels is missing in Las Vegas.
He began his dental career as a dental assistant while obtaining his Bachelor’s of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from San Diego State University. From there, he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine and graduated Cum Laude. As a student he received recognition from the Academy of Cranio-Facial Pain.
Some areas of focus are CAD/CAM restorations, the placement and restoration of dental implants,and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Flores is an active member of the North Las Vegas community sponsoring various charities, schools and athletic teams. He also has held a position in the Executive Council of the UNLV: School of Dental Medicine Alumni Association.
When he’s not at the office, Dr. Flores enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, traveling and his second passion: cooking! He enjoys learning about new foods and how to prepare food in different ways. He also has mentioned that if he wasn’t a dentist he’d go back to culinary school.
Ky, RDH
Ky, a Las Vegas native, graduated from Cimarron Memorial High School and received her dental assistant and radiology license from Western Dakota Tech. With over 15 years of dental office experience, Ky has not only excelled in a dental office, she has also managed to earn her degree in Criminal Justice. As one of the people who coordinates scheduling, billing and all other administrative elements of our practice, Ky has developed an impressive ability to oversee our complex operation with patience, warmth and great success.
Ky is a lifetime member to the American Association of Dental Office Managers, which means she will be at our office treating you right for a long time! She also has earned her Certificate in Digital Dentistry from E4D and Planmeca; that means using our CBCT and intraoral scanner she can scan your mouth in 3D and 2D for implant placement, crown and bridge design, even full mouth cosmetic work.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, watching sports, drawing and photography.
Shaylee, RDH
Originally from Utah, where she grew up and lived on a farm, Shaylee moved to Las Vegas in 2020! She graduated from Fortis College in Salt Lake City with her Hygiene Degree. Shaylee prides herself on being a great conversationalist and will most likely be keeping you entertained while she cleans your teeth. With a bubbly personality she brings both positive energy and joy to our office. When Shaylee is not teaching her patients oral care, she enjoys spending time in the mountains with her husband and her two dog babies. Cooking, crafting and making tumblers are also hobbies that make this hygienist smile.
la tasha
La Tasha, is native to Las Vegas and is our office insurance coordinator. La Tasha has an accounting and management background and graduated with her Bachelors in Business Management in February 2021! She is a single mother of three children and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. When she has time she likes to travel, horseback ride and go to her happy place, Disneyland! She is an avid gym enthusiast and prioritizes staying healthy.
Kelley
Kelley was born and raised in Las Vegas, a true native! As an accomplished ballet dancer, Kelley studied and performed with Nevada Ballet Theater, Las Vegas Academy, and earned a dance scholarship to Colorado Mesa University. She says that ballet will always be an important part of her life. Kelley was introduced to a career in dentistry 8 years ago, and she feels very thankful to have an office that feels like a home away from home. Kelley truly cares for her patient’s total well being. She’s warm, inviting and makes a visit to the dentist very comfortable. While with Flores Family Dental she has trained in state of the art technologies to custom make crowns while you wait, and has become Dr. Flores’ right hand for placement of dental implants. When she’s not in the office, the self-proclaimed “junk-food connoisseur” can be found spending time with her husband and three kids. She loves hiking with her two pups, traveling to the beach, trying new restaurants, and game nights with friends and family!
DESTINY
After being born in Chicago, growing up in Wisconsin than Hawaii, Destiny finally settled in Las Vegas and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Destiny graduated from Northwest Career College in 2020 and joined out work family as one of our Certified Dental Assistants. When Destiny is not chair-side assisting, she loves dancing, sleeping, watching movies and snacking on all the spicy “junk” food! Destiny is family oriented, so whenever she gets the opportunity she likes to travel to see her friends and 21 siblings!
Amanda
Amanda was born in California, however moving to Las Vegas at 2 years old makes her a true Nevadan in our minds. Graduating from Northwest Career College in 2021, Amanda is one of our Certified Dental Assistants! She introduced herself into dentistry by watching videos of different procedures out of her own interest. Amanda never thought this field would be one to make a career out of but after graduating and jumping into dentistry she knew she took the correct leap of faith. She does hope to take a step into Orthodontics in the future. Amanda loves living in Las Vegas because there are endless activities to do here! Outside of her interest in dentistry, she enjoys music, shopping, painting and being crafty. You can catch her on weekends going to concerts or hanging out in down town Las Vegas!
